tl;dr: edgard just hit 200 subscribers! here's why i'm crying happy tears and what's next for our little corner of the internet.
mis amores,
holy guacamole, we did it! π₯β¨ 200 beautiful souls have decided that my ramblings are worth cluttering their inboxes. i'm simultaneously thrilled and terrified. (mostly thrilled, thoughβ¦ mostly.)
let's be real - when i started this substack, i thought maybe my mom, my dad, and my best friend pat would be the only ones to subscribe. (hi mom! hi dad! hi pat!) but here we are, 200 strong. that's enough people to start a small, very niche cult. (note to self: explore cult leader aesthetic for next photo shoot.)
but seriously, i'm overwhelmed with gratitude. each one of you choosing to read my words feels like a warm hug for my soul. it's like that feeling when you find the perfect avocado at the grocery store - rare, precious, and absolutely worth celebrating.
so, what does this milestone mean? well, besides giving me an excuse to eat way too much flan in celebration (as if i needed an excuse), it's got me thinking about what's next for edgard.
here's a sneak peek of what's brewing in mi cabecita loca:
more spicy takes: get ready for some hot opinions on everything from puerto rican politics to the best boba spots in hillcrest. i promise to keep it caliente. πΆοΈ
guest writers: i'm bringing in some brilliant voices from our community. expect fresh perspectives that'll make you think, laugh, and maybe cry (in a good way).
interactive content: how about some live q&as? or maybe a virtual cafecito session where we can chat about life, love, and the pursuit of the perfect tostones?
behind-the-scenes peeks: i'll be sharing more about my writing process, including the embarrassing number of times i procrastinate by reorganizing my spotify playlists.
community spotlights: y'all are amazing, and i want to showcase the incredible things you're doing. got a cool project or story? hit me up!
but here's the real tea: this substack isn't just about me. it's about us. it's about creating a space where we can be unapologetically ourselves, where we can laugh at life's absurdities, cry over its injustices, and find hope in each other.
so, from the bottom of my very caffeinated heart, thank you. thank you for reading, for sharing, for engaging. thank you for being part of this beautiful, messy, rainbow-colored journey.
now, i have a favor to ask. if this substack has brought even a tiny spark of joy to your life, consider sharing it with someone who might need a little extra light in their inbox. together, we can create a whole damn rainbow. π
i'd love to hear from you! drop a comment or reply to this email - let me know what you'd like to see more of in future posts. your wish is my command (within reason - i draw the line at interpretive dance videos).
con todo mi amor y un besito,
edgard πβπ½π
I'm so happy for you Edgard!!! And I am happy to be one of those 200+
CONGRATULATIONS!!!
So elated to be a small part and having witnessed your sweet journey to success.
Keep going and keep making Puerto Ricans proud.
